What is Counselling?
Counselling is a professional, confidential process that provides individuals with a safe space to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It aims to support personal growth, improve emotional well-being, and help resolve specific problems or life challenges. Through the process clients gain insight, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change.

What Happens in a Counselling Session?
The start of a counselling journey begins with an initial assessment, which captures information such as the client’s needs and goals of therapy as well as the therapist outlining their way of working. You will also discuss what to expect from sessions and finer details such as time of meeting and payment. Following assessment, sessions focus on exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviours related to the client’s difficulties. The counsellor provides a supportive, non-judgemental space to facilitate reflection and growth. Throughout therapy, strategies and interventions may be introduced to address specific challenges, with progress reviewed regularly to ensure the approach meets the client’s needs.

What you share with your counsellor is confidential. However, confidentiality may have to be broken under rare circumstances which will be discussed thoroughly with you in your first session.
